Prof. Matteo Trimarchi

Prof. Matteo Trimarchi is associate professor of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the Vita Salute University in Milan and of the Otolaryngology Unit of the S. Raffaele Hospital in Milan.
He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Pavia in 1996 with marks 110/110 with honours and obtained a certificate in Otolaryngology at the University of Brescia in 2001 with marks 50/50 with honors.
With regard to professional studies, he attended study and training periods at hospital and university centres (including S. Thomas Hospital and Guy’s Hospital in London, the Department of Anatomy, Harvard University, Boston, the Department of Otolaryngology, Mayo Clinic in Rochester and the Royal National Throat Nose and Ear Hospital, University College London).
Since 2002 he has performed more than 6000 procedures in the field of head and neck pathology. He has carried out research in various specialty sectors, focussing in particular on naso-paranasal endoscopic surgery and pathology and the study of head and neck tumours. Of particular interest are his results in the study of destructive midline-facial injuries from cocaine abuse and rare nasal sinus conditions.
He is the author of 100 publications in national and international journals, of 4 book chapters and of two data and image storage systems of patients with sinus neoplasms.
He is a member of the American Rhinology Society, of the Italian Otolaryngology Society, of the European Rhinology Society, of the Italian Rhinology Academy (founding member), and of the Spanish Otolaryngology Society (honorary member).
